• Step 1: This walk starts off Fair Hill, NE49 9EB. The nearest train station is Haltwhistle and the AD122 (great Roman bus number!) and 685 run locally. The terrain has steps, steep sections and can be muddy.

• 

  Step 2: This Fairfield Park stone, marks the start point of this walk. Turn left past the stone and continue behind the brick wall.

• 

  Step 3: Keep walking to the end. Go through the metal kissing gate.

• 

  Step 4: Follow the tarmac footpath downhill. It will turn into a dirt path soon.

• 

  Step 5: Soon Burn Field appears on your left. Ignore this for now and continue along the dirt footpath downhill.

• 

  Step 6: Can you spot any friendly sheep grazing in the field on the right?
