  • Step 2: Amble grew in the 19th century as collieries were opened. Newly built railway links to the Northumberland coalfields made the town a centre for the sea transport & export of coal. It’s now a fishing and water sports town.

  • This path leads to the pier. In bad weather do not go onto the pier for your own safety. The beach is on your left hand side. Keep right.
