Walk preview

1. Step 1: There is a steady climb through suburban roads at the start but then easy walking. Great when the lavender is in flower. There are more stiles than usual. Waymarking is generally good.

2. 

   Step 2: Leave Coulsdon South Station from platform 1. Go down the steps, over the crossing and then right under the two bridges.

3. 

   Step 3: Go over Cane Hill Drive. Stay on the left hand pavement to fork left on Lion Green Road just after some traffic lights.

4. 

   Step 4: Continue along the road passing blocks of flats and a car park.

5. 

   Step 5: If you have a particular interest in railway history, divert left up steps when you reach Red Clover Gardens.

6. 

   Step 6: Continue to the back of the development curving left, then right past a playground.
