• Step 1: Largely level walking on firm paths that may have some surface mud. Some bridges are quite steep. The waymarking is generally very good.

• 

  Step 2: Leave Uxbridge tube station straight ahead through the main exit. Turn right along the High Street.

• 

  Step 3: Keep on along the High Street to cross first Belmont Road and then Harefield Road.

• 

  Step 4: Continue in the same direction to cross Sanderson Road. Walk on over the bridge ahead.

• 

  Step 5: Turn right on the other side of the bridge down the steps and ramp to the canal towpath. Go along the towpath with the canal on your right.

• 

  Step 6: Cross the canal on bridge 184 at Uxbridge Lock. Continue along the towpath on the other side.
