• Step 1: Welcome to Section 1 of the Lea Valley Walk. This walk follows the Lea Navigation towpath from Waltham Abbey to Ponders End.

• 

  Step 2: Join the walk from Station Road. If you’re starting at Waltham Cross Station, it’s about half a mile straight down the road.

• 

  Step 3: Navigating is simple from here on, just keep walking straight from here and enjoy the quiet after the road.

• 

  Step 4: You’ll find a lot of boats moored in different spots along the way. Continue down the River Lee Navigation.

• 

  Step 5: When the river meanders the view opens up nicely.

• 

  Step 6: You’ll meet some of the local ducks, geese and swans along the way.
