Step 1: Zipcar has over 1000 fully electric cars that members can drive, with most available in our one-way Flex service (like a self-drive taxi).
Step 2: This walk starts at the High Beach Visitor Centre Car Park, Waltham Abbey, Loughton IG10 4AE. Please note that the car park closes at 5pm and you need coins for the paid parking. About 2 hours should be ok (£2.50 in Sep ‘23).
Step 3: The forest is open 365 days of the year and whatever the season it’s a great time to visit. There are 50 distinct areas of woodland, grassland and other habitats across 2,400 hectares. It’s dog friendly but please follow signage.
Step 4: In wet or wintry weather, bringing some sturdy shoes or wellies that you don’t mind getting muddy is wise! Don’t forget to bring a bag to put them in to help contain any mud for the return journey. 😅
Step 5: This walk starts outside the visitor centre. Toilets and further information are available on site.
Step 6: With your back to the visitor centre. Walk to the far end of the car park and look for this zebra crossing on your right. Cross over.
