  Step 2: Welcome to the village of Islip. Your walk starts at the village shop on Church Close. It's a short walk from Islip train station.

• Step 3: Cross the road towards St Nicholas' Church, the medieval parish church.

• Step 4: Be aware that some areas may flood and can be muddy at certain times of the year. Some parts of this route have gates and stiles. There's a brief stretch along busy roads, too. This walk may not suit people with limited mobility.

• 

  Step 5: You can go in the church, if you'd like. It's said that Edward the Confessor was from Islip and baptised in a church here.

  Step 6: Right. Ready to head out? Begin by following the sign from the church green towards Merton and Ambrosden.
