  • Step 1: Walking is on paths and tracks which can be muddy after wet weather. There are moderate ups and downs. Waymarking has recently been much improved.

  • Turn left at the top of the steps from the Petts Wood platform. Walk ahead towards Queensway and turn right at the T-junction.

  • Step 3: Where the main street curves left, keep ahead into Crest View Drive. Go round to the left with the Drive and then take the first right into Tent Peg Lane.

  • Just before the car park entrance fork left on a waymarked footpath through trees. Continue until you reach a signpost for cycle routes.

  • Turn left through the barrier at the sign post. At once fork left on the cycle path and then immediately left again on the footpath.

  • Follow the path past an open space then through trees and curving left between hedges to a farm gate. Turn right on a fenced path by a drive
