• Step 1: If like me you tend to get on the wrong trains on the DLR. This is a nice route back to Excel Centre that doesn’t involve waiting for a packed train. Start at West Silvertown.

• Step 2: Cross over North Woolwich Road safely at the crossings. Walk towards Britannia Gate. Don’t worry you won’t be on the busy road for long.

• 

  Step 3: Britannia Gate is a pretty treelined Street. Keep going until you reach the roundabout. Turn right at the roundabout onto Wesley Avenue.

• Step 4: Keep going down Wesley Avenue until you reach Hardy Avenue. Amazing views of London await.

• Step 5: Walk up Hardy Avenue towards the dock.

• 

  Step 6: The remnants of the old docklands area are all around.
