  Step 1: Start from the car park in Thicketford Road. A useful map gives an overview of Seven Acres Country Park.

• 

  Step 2: With the road behind you, go through the swing gate to the left of the car park.

• 

  Step 3: Almost immediately, turn right on the stony path with a ridge of grass in the middle.

• 

  Step 4: At the T-junction, turn left along the sometimes puddle-strewn path. Continue along it, ignoring the path off to the right.

• 

  Step 5: The stony but level path offers fine views over the wooded valley to the left.

• 

  Step 6: The path rises between ivy-clad trees. Watch out for lumpy bricks in the path surface.
