  Step 1: Enter Queen's Park by the grand gateway on Park Road and bear left.

• 

  Step 2: Pass an information board to your right, with details of the park's history. Bear left past a wooden barrier and walk ahead slightly uphill.

• 

  Step 3: Over to the left is the Park café and toilets.

• 

  Step 4: At the wide junction, proceed ahead up the broad hard-surfaced path, keeping left at a fork. The gradient may be too steep for some.

• 

  Step 5: After a few minutes, the path becomes less steep, offering fine views over a hollow to the left.

• 

  Step 6: By a litter bin, bear left towards the lake and turn right along the lakeside path. There is a low railing to the left.
