  Step 1: Start the walk from Bromley Cross station, served by trains from Bolton and Manchester. Exit from platform 2.

• Step 2: Please note that parts of this walk may be damp, muddy and slippery at any time of year and especially after periods of wet weather. Please bear this in mind when planning your trip.

• 

  Step 3: Turn right to go through a gate, cross the rail lines and go through another gate.

• 

  Step 4: Head down the parking area and turn right along Higher Shady Lane.

• 

  Step 5: Turn left to cross the road keeping to the left of the roundabout.

• Step 6: Turn left onto Grange Road, remaining on the roadway.
