  Step 1: This walk takes you through old trees and rewilded fairways. Expect flat paths, a crescent-shaped lake and gardens.

  Step 2: Once a golf course, the park is now one of south-east London’s most surprising green spaces.

• 

  Step 3: Exit Beckenham Hill Station to Melfield Garden, turn right on Blackland Road. Step-free access available at station.

• 

  Step 4: To get to the Beckenham Place Park entrance you’ll use the pedestrian lights on Beckenham Hill Road.

• 

  Step 5: If arriving from the Home Counties or beyond your exit allows you to access this shortcut to the Park.

• 

  Step 6: Enjoy the dappled light as you enter the Park gates.
