Step 3: Walk up Fleet Street towards Ludgate Circus, the site of an old crossing point over the River Fleet! So, where is the River today?
Step 4: The River Fleet rises on Hampstead Heath and joins the Thames at Blackfriars Bridge. Once a key waterway for the city, it became polluted, and between the 1730s and 1870s it was covered over. Now it is a subterranean secret!
Step 5: From Ludgate Circus turn left into Faringdon Street and immediately left into St Bride Street
