• Step 1: Walking is on paths and tracks which can be muddy after wet weather. There are moderate ups and downs. Waymarking has recently been much improved.

• 

  Step 2: Turn left at the top of the steps from the Petts Wood platform. Walk ahead towards Queensway and turn right at the T-junction.

• 

  Step 3: Where the main street curves left, keep ahead into Crest View Drive. Go round to the left with the Drive.

• 

  Step 4: Next take the first right into Tent Peg Lane.

• 

  Step 5: Just before the car park entrance fork left on a waymarked footpath through trees.

• 

  Step 6: Continue until you reach a signpost for cycle routes by a barrier.
