  • Step 1: This is a hilly walk by Loop standards. It is rewarding as it runs through a series of woods but it also features some fine views. Waymarking is helpful especially and has recently been considerably improved.

  • Turn right out of Hayes Station. Cross Bourne Way at the mini-roundabout and turn left. Cross Larkfield Close and go up Station Hill.

  • Step 3: At the first junction, where Ridgeway is the road ahead, turn right still on Station Hill. Walk to the top of the hill and turn right alongside Hayes Common.

  • Walk along Warren Road and continue past a barrier on a path. Pass a gate onto an unsurfaced street (Warren Wood Close).

  • Cross the end of Holland Way and keep in the same direction on a fenced footpath by a sports field. The path goes down, up and down.

  • At the end of the path, turn right down the Croydon Road. Cross Coney Hill Road then turn left to cross the main road at the first island.
