• Step 1: This 6 mile walk covers an exceptionally rural section of the Loop. Some waymarks are missing. There are a few stiles but only a couple that have to be climbed. In wet weather some paths can be muddy.

• 

  Step 2: Before leaving the station, admire this description of your walk on the station wall.

• 

  Step 3: Turn right out of Chigwell Station. Walk along the High Road past the shops. Cross Chigwell Brook and Courtland Drive.

• 

  Step 4: Keep ahead past a mini roundabout to join the main Loop route.

• 

  Step 5: Carry on up the hill passing the church and Ye Olde Kings Head (now restaurant).

• 

  Step 6: Just past the ex-pub, opposite the school, where there is a light-controlled crossing, turn right on a footpath. Continue through a gate.
