  • Step 1: A varied 4.5 mile walk through woodland, fields and into a river valley. The final approach to Chigwell is on busy roads. There are plenty of encouraging waymarks but some are missing at key points.

  • Turn right from Chingford Station along Station Road past the bus station.

  • Just before the golf club house, turn right onto an earth/gravel track.
