  Step 1: Your walk of Leiston begins here on Main Street.

• Step 2: Main Street is a great start point as it’s where buses to & from Saxmundham, Ipswich & Halesworth stop. There is also parking nearby if you do have to drive to the town.

• 

  Step 3: This is Leiston Library. They have a lovely garden which is open in the summer. With your back to the library please turn right.

• 

  Step 4: You will then reach The Long Shop Museum (seasonal opening hours apply). This once was Leiston Works, which opened from 1778 to 1932.

• 

  Step 5: The building was preserved & opened as an industrial museum featuring stories of engineering & design.

• Step 6: The Long Shop is an early example of a building which was designed for assembly-line production. It’s grade II listed, as well as the water tower too.
