• 

  Step 1: Stage 7 of the Ringway starts at Marple station, served by trains from Manchester. Buses from Stockport run to stops nearby.

• Step 2: Please note that parts of this walk may be damp, muddy and slippery at any time of year and especially after periods of wet weather. Please bear this in mind when planning your trip.

• 

  Step 3: Leave the station from Platform 1 either via the stairs or, for step-free access, via the car park to reach the A626 (Brabyns Brow).

• 

  Step 4: Turn right along the pavement of Brabyns Brow to cross the bridge over the train line.

• 

  Step 5: Straight after the bridge, turn right at a fingerpost. If the path is overgrown, continue along the road and turn right onto the towpath.

• 

  Step 6: Continue along the narrow dirt footpath that overlooks the train station, with a fence to your left.
