• 

  Step 1: The walk can start from either Wallgate or North Western stations. These are served by direct trains from Manchester, Bolton and elsewhere.

• Step 2: Wigan Bus Station, with services from Leigh and elsewhere, is also only a short walk away.

• Step 3: Please note that parts of this walk may be damp, muddy and slippery at any time of year and especially after periods of wet weather. Please bear this in mind when planning your trip.

• 

  Step 4: If starting at Wigan Wallgate station, exit via the steps or lift and cross Wallgate via the push-button crossing.

• 

  Step 5: Turn right along the wide pavement past shops and cafes.

• 

  Step 6: Cross the car park access road for the fully accessible Wigan North Western station. Toilets are available here even for non-passengers.
