  • Step 1: Begin this walk at Royal Albert Station on the DLR. This section is quite flat and less than 4 miles/6km. It explores the once very industrial area of Beckton, the former docks, the River Thames and the foot tunnel at Woolwich.

  • Step 2: OCTOBER 2024: Please note that until summer 2025, this route is the only way that Section 15 can be walked. This is due to works to refurbish the lock gates (and the footpath over them) over King George V Lock.

  • Step 3: As well as being able to explore the University of East London campus, there are unbeatable views of planes landing and taking off at London City Airport. Kids will love this!

  • The start of the section is quarter of a mile away. Follow signs to exit the DLR station in the direction of Becton through the metal fence.

Step 4: The start of the section is quarter of a mile away. Follow signs to exit the DLR station in the direction of Becton through the metal fence.
