Step 1: Begin this walk at Royal Albert Station on the DLR. This section is quite flat and only 4 miles (6.4km). It explores the once very industrial area of Beckton, the former docks, the River Thames and the foot tunnel at Woolwich.
Step 2: As well as being able to explore the University of East London campus, there are unbeatable views of planes landing and taking off at London City Airport. Kids will love this!
Step 3: From Royal Albert Station on the DLR, the start of the walk is a quarter of a mile away. Keep your eye out for the signs. Cross over Royal Albert Way at the traffic lights and walk up Stansfeld Road.
Step 4: Walk up Stansfeld Road and then cross over the road safely at the zebra crossing straight onto Jack Russell Walk. You are now in Beckton Park.
Step 5: Head through the avenue of trees. As you walk you may hear the rumble of jets taking off on your right. Follow the path to the far side.
Step 6: Keep an eye out for signs for the Capital Ring and Jubilee Greenway. Turn right between trees at the next footpath and stay on this path.
