• 

  Step 1: Start out at Mayflower Park. With views across the tidal reaches of the River Test, this is a great place to watch ships come and go 🛳.

• 

  Step 2: To start the route, head towards the park exit past the former gatehouse of the Southampton Royal Pier, now a restaurant.

• 

  Step 3: Exit to the road and carefully cross over at the lights. Then turn left.

• 

  Step 4: You will pass The Dancing Man Brewery, a popular stop for a pint. The building is an old wool storage house built in the 14th century.

• 

  Step 5: Pass the white building and take a right onto Cuckoo Lane, one of the oldest streets in the city. Wealthy merchants lived here in the 1200s.

• 

  Step 6: The column on your left is The Mayflower Memorial, commemorating the sailing of the pilgrim fathers to America.
