  • Start the walk at Southampton Central Station (or from Civic Centre Road). Head north east towards the city centre along the main road.

    Step 1: Start the walk at Southampton Central Station (or from Civic Centre Road). Head north east towards the city centre along the main road.

  • Step 2: Cross over the junctions safely until you get to New Road. Look out for Above Bar St on your left.

  • Step 3: Turn left at Above Bar Street.

  • You are now in Southampton’s Cultural Quarter. On your left is the O2 Guildhall. The Grade II listed building was originally a town hall.

  • Step 5: Did you know that this classical revival guildhall houses a large pipe organ which was built into it from new? It has two consoles, a classical concert organ and a theatre organ.

  • Back on Above Bar St you may come across The Artisan cafe. It’s a rather great spot to grab a cuppa or some lunch.
