  Step 3: Look out for this plaque low down to the left. These iron plaques are for the official Jane Austen Trail on which this walk is loosely based

• Step 4: Web search "Jane Austen Trail" to find a PDF of the official trail pamphlet. This jaunt varies and enhances the official route!

  Step 5: Turn around and head back to the left of the Bargate, past Burger King and head for the West Quay complex.

• 

  Step 6: Go ahead to the top of the steps. Medieval walls and 21st century shopping side by side!
