  Step 1: This walking tour takes approximately 2 hours. Starting at Marble Arch Underground station.

• Step 2: The Grosvenor family has owned 40 hectares (100 acres) of Mayfair since 1677, when Sir Thomas Grosvenor married Mary Davies, heiress to part of the Manor of Ebury.

• Step 3: The northern part of the Manor, which is today bounded by Oxford Street, Park Lane, Berkeley Square and Avery Row...

• Step 4: ... derived its name from the ‘May Fair’ – an annual two week long fair of ‘vice’ and ‘impurities’, held until well into the 19th century.

  Step 5: Take a left down Green Street, lined with late 19th century terracotta buildings.

• 

  Step 6: On your left you will find Dunraven Street where writer PG Wodehouse resided at No 17 between 1927 and 1934.
