• Step 1: The Orbital at High Woods is part of the Colchester Orbital, a 14-15 mile walk around Colchester town, linking some of its most important & beautiful green spaces. This walk is an easier access route.

• Step 2: High Woods Country Park has multiple opportunities for walking, across abilities. Access through the park is step free although there are some mixed gradients.

• 

  Step 3: Your jaunt begins here at the High Woods Country Park Visitor Centre.

• Step 4: There are refreshments available, as well as accessible toilet facilities. These are located to the left of the Visitor Centre.

• Step 5: You need to take the smoother path from the Visitor Centre. This is a wide path made of clay & gravel. It’s firm underfoot & hard in summer. It may be slippery when wet.

• 

  Step 6: High Woods was once within the medieval Royal Forest of Kingswood & was valued for its timber.
