Colchester Orbital East A

Walk preview

1. Step 1: The Orbital East A (5.4m) is part of the Colchester Orbital, a 14-15 mile walk around Colchester town, linking some of its most important & beautiful green spaces.

2. 

   Step 2: The Orbital begins at High Woods Country Park Visitor Centre. Refreshment & toilets (including accessible facilities) are available.

3. 

   Step 3: To begin take the route to your right (Visitors Centre behind you), past the climbing wall & play area.

4. 

   Step 4: A great spot for kids to explore before your walk begins!

5. Step 5: High Woods compromises of 370 acres of mixed grassland, pasture, scrub, wetland & woodland. It was once within the medieval Royal Forest of Kingswood. All rich in plant & wildlife. 👑 🌱 🐦

   Step 6: At the junction of paths please turn right. The path to the lake is straight ahead if you want a small diversion.
