Step 1: The walk starts here at Southampton Central Station, North exit. Facing away from the station, bear right to walk along Southbrook Road.
Step 2: Please note: Southampton Central is well served by trains, including those to & from Bristol, London, Portsmouth, Cardiff, Weymouth, Southsea & more. Local buses depart from the nearby central bus station.
Step 3: If you’re local to Southampton or would prefer to start the walk from a different point, please do swipe to the relevant walk step to continue otherwise continue walking along Southbrook Road.
Step 4: Follow the road as it turns into Blechynden Terrace. On your right will be Blechynden Terrace Park. Take the sloping path down to explore.
Step 5: The steel arch was added in 2018 as part of a a beautification project of Southampton’s parks.
Step 6: This arch was added as part of a memorial to the Southampton Blitz.
