  Step 1: Start facing the pavilion and turn right to walk clockwise around the park towards Carlisle Road entrance. Follow the perimeter path.

• Step 2: Stop regularly to test your senses. What can you see, hear and feel? Come at different times of the year to stimulate your senses.

• 

  Step 3: On the left in the border there is a cherry plum tree. What colour are the leaves? Look at the bark and lichens and notice the patterns.

• 

  Step 4: As you round the corner, look at the leyland cypress tree. Try crushing some of the leaves - what can you smell? Notice the bark.

• 

  Step 5: To the right is a small group of trees. Compare the texture of the leaves. Are there any differences?

• 

  Step 6: Do the trees have different patterns on the bark? Look at the patterns made by the grooves and fissures. Continue clockwise
