Step 4: Godfrey the owl stands at the entrance to Kneller Gardens on Meadway. He was carved from a decayed ash tree and named after Godfrey Kneller.
Step 5: Nearby Kneller Hall was owned by Godfrey Kneller and was a summer retreat. The park was named after him when it was opened in 1932.
Step 6: Take the path that follows the river. This majestic London Plane tree predates the park. The land was farmland owned by Warren Farm.
