Step 1: Godfrey the owl stands at the entrance. He is named after Godfrey Kneller the portrait painter who lived in Kneller Hall. Touch the carving.
Step 2: Opposite is a London Plane tree. Look at the colours on the bark and feel the texture. Can you see any faces?
Step 3: Walk along the path next to the river. Can you feel the difference in temperature? This is most noticeable on a hot day.
Step 4: Look at the dappled light on the river. Listen to the rustling leaves. What can you smell - the river, the trees or something else?
Step 5: Continue on the path. Touch the carved animals. Close your eyes and try and guess what they are.
Step 6: Under the willow listen to the wind blowing though the leaves. Touch and smell the leaves and compare this with the texture of the railings
