• Step 1: This walk starts at London Bridge but could start at other stations like Bank. Additional visits can be added to Roman sites such as Southwark Cathedral, the Guildhall Amphitheatre & Mithraeum. I will note these as we pass.

• Step 2: Exit the station onto Tooley St, cross & take the diagonal left, past St Olaf House (art deco building) & walk under the bridge, past the beer hall, to reach the stairs. Climb up & turn left to cross the Thames. *Detour Option

• Step 3: Detour Option 1 is Southwark Cathedral for some Roman finds and part of a road. Head past the stairs and follow the Thames path which passes the Cathedral. After that head back and up the stairs.

• Step 4: Near the bus stop is a stairway down to the lower street level. Head down & right to cross under the road & then down again to reach Lower Thames Street. *Detour Option

• Step 5: Detour Option 2 The Mithraeum is a ten minute walk & takes minimum 20 minutes to tour. For this, continue & take a left onto Cannon St, cross to view the London Stone & take a right on Walbrook. It’s free but booking recommended.

• Step 6: On the street level take a right. You’ll see a church ahead. This is St Magnus the Martyr and is a small detour.
