Step 1: Leave Waterloo station via Exit 5 (opposite platforms 20-24).
Step 2: As you leave the station, turn left & head towards the Festival Hall in the distance.
Step 3: Cross York Road at the crossing & continue under the blue railway bridge along Sutton Walk, & then left on to Concert Hall Approach.
Step 4: Be careful crossing the road at the end of Concert Hall Approach - it can be busy with buses, taxis & cyclists.
Step 5: Go up the stairs to the left of the Festival Hall.
Step 6: Here’s your first monument: Nelson Mandela, freedom fighter against apartheid in South Africa.
