• Step 1: Welcome to Roundhay Park! One of the largest parks in Europe, there's so much to discover - parkland, woodland, sports fields, lakes, gardens, a mansion, a secret castle, and more.

• 

  Step 2: Today's walk is a simple, step-free route round the heart of the park. It begins at the car park by the Lakeside Café (LS8 2JL).

• Step 3: You can get here by public transport by taking the 12 bus from city centre to the Roundhay Park stop. It’s about a 10 minute walk through the park to the Lakeside Cafe from the bus stop.

  Step 4: When you're ready to head out, begin with your back to the café. Head straight ahead…

• 

  Step 5: … then veer right, following the wide paved Carriage Drive.

• 

  Step 6: On your right, pass the lovely lakeside bandstand.
