• 

  Step 1: Placing the entrance to Ancoats Primary Care Centre behind you, walk left towards the pedestrian crossing and cross the road.

• 

  Step 2: After crossing either climb the steps or turn right over the railway sleepers and ornate metal plates.

• 

  Step 3: Turn sharp left up the ramp.

• 

  Step 4: Turn right along the canal. There is an unfenced drop into the canal on the right. Cross the first bridge & continue in the same direction.

• 

  Step 5: Don't turn right across the next bridge. Instead turn left along the wide canal-side path, ascending slightly.

• 

  Step 6: At lock number 3, turn right and cross the footbridge by the lock gate. The surfaces are slightly uneven here.
