  Step 1: Placing the entrance to Ancoats Primary Care centre behind you, turn left along the pavement.

• 

  Step 2: Turn left into the Cotton Field complex and park, open in daytimes and early evening only.

• 

  Step 3: There are lots of colourful boats to admire moored on the canal branch to the right.

• 

  Step 4: Pass through the assymetric metal gateway (closed at dusk).

• 

  Step 5: Follow the wide wooden pathway as it bears left.

• 

  Step 6: The path soon bears right. There is an unfenced drop into water on the right.
