  Step 1: Begin this easygoing walk at Manchester Piccadilly station. The poignant statue outside depicts 7 blinded soldiers from the First World War.

  Step 2: Saunter slowly down London Road towards Piccadilly Gardens, you will pass the Malmaison Hotel.

  Step 3: Opposite the Wellington Monument, take an optional detour to explore the characterful Northern Quarter - take a right up Lever Street.
