  Step 1: We start at Forest Hill station, and will finish on Crystal Palace Parade, where a huge new station was built in 1865

  Step 2: First we need to walk to the former location of the railway bridge over Lordship Lane. It’s by the nature trail at the Horniman Museum

  Step 3: Carry on up the hill

  Step 5: Turn into the museum gardens and walk down the hill

  Step 6: The first sign of the Crystal Palace High level railway is the compost heaps at the Horniman, constructed from old wooden railway sleepers
