  Step 1: Begin at Gospel Oak overground station.

• 

  Step 2: Turn left as you exit, walking underneath the railway bridge of the Barking line.

• 

  Step 3: Enter Hampstead Heath heading straight up the path with this block of flats on your right.

• 

  Step 4: You’ll pass the famous Lido on your left. Built in 1938 it offers bracing, unheated outdoor swims all year round and is 60 metres long.

• 

  Step 5: At the fork at the top of the first field, turn right and walk past the bandstand, which should now be on your left.

• 

  Step 6: Keep walking and you’ll see Parliament Hill Café on your left where you can get a bite to eat, a hot drink, or the ever-popular ice cream.
