• Step 1: An easy, flat walk along leafy paths, across an open field to The Turf Locks with estuary views out to sea, returning alongside Exeter Ship Canal and country lanes. A few stiles to negotiate on route.

  Step 2: Your walk starts here at Exe Estuary.

• 

  Step 3: Exiting the car park from the opposite end to the entrance, you’ll find the path to the left of the restricted access gate.

• 

  Step 4: Continue following the gravel path.

• 

  Step 5: There are lots of tree routes along the path, so be careful when you’re walking.

• 

  Step 6: You’ll pass a sluce gate here. Exminster Marshes are on your left and Powderham Marshes are on your right.
