CommUNITY Wellbeing Walk - Route 1

Step 1: This walk starts and ends at CommUNITY space in Lewisham Shopping Centre. It’s also Unit 17 in the South Side.
Step 2: The nearest bus stops are on Molesworth Street or Lewisham High Street. The Lewisham DLR & railway station is also a short distance away. With your back to the hub, turn left and continue ahead.
Step 3: Look out for this welcome bench, just outside the XO Bike shop. The public art is a 3D print of local community activist, Stella Headley.
Step 4: The work, ‘Sanctuary Cafe’ is by blind artist, David Johnson. The accessible picnic bench invites you to sit with Stella and enjoy conversations, drinking or eating with friends. Behind the bench is the XO bikes shop.
Step 5: Almost directly opposite you should see the Migration Museum which is open 11am to around 5pm Weds - Sun and is free to enter. It’s great!
Step 6: Just beyond Starbucks and opposite the sports shops you’ll find fragments of the Berlin Wall adorned with artwork by Thierry Noir & Stik.
