  Step 1: There is free parking on the road by The Bricklayers Arms.

• 

  Step 2: Head along the path with the river to your right. Did you know the River Darent is over 20 miles in length.

• 

  Step 3: It's hard to believe but Chipstead Lake is man-made, the result of gravel extraction during the 20th century.

• 

  Step 4: These little chickens have a little home alongside the lake.

• 

  Step 5: There are a lots of lovely viewpoints along the lake, but be careful near the water!

• 

  Step 6: Paths are narrow and need a sensible pair of shoes. We turned back here.
