  Step 1: Knole is run by the National Trust, but it is free to access the vast grounds. For a small fee we recommend taking the old Routemaster bus which travels from Sevenoaks town centre up to the park

• 

  Step 2: The park has a full range of amenities. You have to pay for the showrooms, but the rest is free.

• 

  Step 3: Start by walking in front of Knole house, with the main door to your left.

• 

  Step 4: Why does this ancient tree to your right need a fence?

• 

  Step 5: Follow this path along the main wall and take a left at the corner.

• 

  Step 6: A sneaky peak into the formal gardens, the owners still live at Knole. This area of the garden is open on Tuesdays for all to enjoy.
