• Step 1: Welcome to the Meanwood Valley! This is Adel Woods and Scotland Woods, two woodland preserves along the Meanwood and Adel Beck.

• Step 2: This walk is a smaller loop along the Meanwood Valley Trail, a seven-mile challenge route from Golden Acre Park into Leeds along a lovely green corridor. The whole route is on the app, if you're up for it.

• Step 3: This walk begins at the Adel Woods car park on Stair Foot Lane (LS16 8DR). The first half of this route follows the Meanwood Valley Trail, then deviates to come back to this point again, a perfect shorter circuit.

• 

  Step 4: At the far end of the car park, look for an opening in the edge to head back into the wood along the dirt path.

  Step 5: Continue ahead as we move into a lovely stretch of woodland to explore.

• 

  Step 6: The Meanwood valley is home to a wide diversity of vegetation, which supports a huge range of flora and fauna.
