Step 1: This walk starts at Whitechapel interchange station which is now a stop on the new Elizabeth line.
Step 2: Exit the station and cross Whitechapel Road at the pedestrian crossing towards Tower Hamlets Town Hall and turn left on the other side.
Step 3: The Tower Hamlets Council are renovating the Royal London Hospital site. The town hall building was once a busy facility where generations of East Londoners were born and cared for. Look out for a turning on the right.
Step 4: Notice a pub called the ‘London Hospital’. A pub has been here since 1753. Enjoyed by construction workers of the time. Turn right here.
Step 5: Continue down East Mount Street towards A&E and then turn left at the end. The London Infirmary was established in the autumn of 1740.
Step 6: Continue ahead, walking through the building underpass. You’re walking on Raven Road now. Cross the side roads carefully.
