Step 1: Uncover a whole world of urban nature on four new walking routes in London brought to you in partnership with Footways and supported by the Mayor of London and Transport for London.
Step 2: Start at Forest Gate, now on the Elizabeth Line, only 11 minutes from Liverpool Street station.
Step 3: Pass the Victorian clock tower, once also a fountain, still in use.
Step 4: Or start at Wanstead Park on the Overground. Continue past the overground on Woodgrange Road, looking out for Wanstead Flats on the right.
Step 5: Wanstead Flats is a large area of open grass in the south of Epping Forest, and perfect for sports, picnics and enjoying nature.
Step 6: It's a Site of Special Scientific Interest and a great place to watch meadow pipits and skylarks, famous for their song.
