• 

  Step 1: Start at Swaythling station, once an hour from Southampton Central or hop on the bus here. Turn left out of the station.

• 

  Step 2: Walk down Wessex Lane.

• 

  Step 3: The footpath continues on the right had side of the road as you walk down. Bear right as you walk around and continue on this road.

• 

  Step 4: As you continue along Wessex Way, you will come across some of the halls of Uni of Southampton Campus.

• 

  Step 5: Cross over the road to see South Stoneham House which was constructed in the late 18th century. It is attributed to Nicholas Hawksmoor.

• Step 6: The building is owned by the Uni of Southampton, and was previously used as a hall of residence. It currently stands empty at the minute which is a bit of a shame.
