Step 2: Welcome to the Thames Path! This walk follows the South Bank of the iconic Thames Path National Trail, from Richmond to Mortlake. It starts by Twickenham Bridge on the south bank of the river.
Step 3: The nearest stations to the start of this walk are St Margarets and Richmond. Buses 110 and 969 stop on nearby St.Margarets Road and Richmond station is served by buses towards Kew, Chiswick or Mortlake.
Step 4: Walk away from Twickenham Bridge with the river on your left. The view opens up into the Crown Estate's Old Deer Park Recreation Ground.
Step 5: Ahead is Richmond Footbridge, painted green and cream.
Step 6: Walk pass the site where George III established an Observatory on the old Kew Meridian, the line of which is marked by two obelisks.
